Celebrate Women’s History Month

It’s not just about vanity. Beauty has always been a powerful way to celebrate femininity. It’s a way to inspire authenticity and these days it’s creating economic opportunities for women around the world.

The point is beauty has a purpose. Women like Madam C.J. Walker, Helena Rubinstein, and Estée Lauder have made historical contributions to women’s history. Walker built a haircare empire for Black women in the early 1900s using door to door sales way ahead of her time.

Rubinstein built one of the first global cosmetic empires and taught women that skincare was science. And Estée Lauder believed you could sell a dream, not just a cream.

These women taught us that makeup isn’t about hiding who you are. It’s about highlighting the beauty that’s already there.

This years theme for women’s history month is Give to Gain. These inspiring women gifted us with their stories, innovation, and outstanding beauty products.

Here is how we can celebrate Women’s History and Give to Gain in our own unique way.

  • Send a confidence-boosting compliment to a female friend
  • Tag the female-owned brand behind your go-to lipstick
  • Send a quick text message to a friend that says “I saw this [flower/book/sunset] and it reminded me of you”
  • Gift a new lip gloss or skincare mask
  • Share a secret DIY beauty hack with a friend

Beauty gets even more powerful when you share it. And the best part? There’s no one way to do it.
